July 4, 1960 - Were you around?

If you were born on or around this time, you are considered a "Baby-Boomer." Funny category. What were you doing on the 4th of July 1960? I was midway through my four-year enlistment in the United States Air Force. I am proud to have served my country! It was a great experience I will never forget. It made a man of me back then.

What else happened in America back then? Well, it was the Chinese year of the Rat if you follow that kind of stuff. It was the day of our first unfurling of 50 stars on our American flag in honor of the statehood of Hawaii. July 4th fell on a Monday in 1960. Great Britain was in love with Lady Chatterly, and Yankees' outfielder Mickey Mantle hit a 3-run homer in Washington.
